Paralegal (Contract Position)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our growing legal team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and can effectively manage multiple priorities while supporting attorneys and clients throughout all phases of litigation preparation and case management.

This position requires strong organizational skills, professionalism, initiative, and the ability to work independently while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare affidavits, legal correspondence, form motions, and other legal documents for attorneys.
  • Organize and maintain client files and records in both paper and electronic filing systems.
  • Meet with clients, attorneys, and other professionals regarding case matters and updates.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate meetings as needed.
  • File pleadings and legal documents with court clerks.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and coordinating supporting materials.
  • Investigate case facts, review standards, and conduct research using public records and other resources.
  • Coordinate law office activities, including service of process and subpoena delivery.
  • Gather, organize, and maintain case-related data and documentation.
  • Communicate with clients, witnesses, and case contacts for case-related purposes.
  • Manage multiple time-sensitive assignments while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
  • Maintain detailed case notes and documentation reflecting work completed on each matter.
  • Monitor case deadlines and manage files to ensure timely progression of cases.

Qualifications

  • Previous paralegal or legal assistant experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court filing procedures, and litigation processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

This position operates in a busy legal office environment requiring professionalism, adaptability, confidentiality, and strong client service skills.

As a Contractor, you may occasionally be invited to participate in optional community activities outside the scope of assigned duties for the purpose of supporting the firm’s clients and community engagement efforts.
